“The National Fuel Permit (QR) is now operational nationwide!”
The government took this decision to manage Sri Lanka’s energy crisis and ensure a continuous supply of fuel to the public.
🚨 Hot news: No fuel without QR from 6.00 am on the 15th!
Due to the ongoing conflict in the Middle East disrupting fuel supply lines and an abnormal increase in domestic demand, the Ministry of Energy has officially re-implemented the National Fuel Pass (QR Code) system effective from 6:00 AM on March 15, 2026.
The government’s goal is to curb illegal fuel hoarding and ensure that the country’s economic activities and daily life continue without disruption. Starting tomorrow morning, no fuel will be issued at any filling station without a valid QR code.
📲 How to Get Your QR Code
The process is simple and can be completed via the official portal: https://fuelpass.gov.lk/.
For Existing Users:
If your vehicle ownership and mobile number remain the same, you can download your code starting from midnight on March 14, 2026.
If your ownership or phone number has changed, you must re-register starting at 6:00 AM on March 15, 2026.
For New Users/Registrations:
