Special Public Notice: Your Contribution to Reducing Electricity Costs and Securing Relief

In light of the current global political crises and the prevailing wartime climate, this strategic plan is introduced to save foreign exchange spent on power generation and to ensure that the benefits of reduced electricity tariffs are consistently passed on to the public.

1. Cost Management and Economic Impact

The use of Diesel, Naphtha, and Furnace Oil for electricity generation is an extremely high-cost endeavor. Particularly during the night, high demand necessitates the operation of thermal power plants, which places a significant strain on the country’s dollar reserves. Since electricity tariffs are determined based on a cost-reflective pricing formula, reducing generation costs is essential to strengthening the government’s ability to further lower electricity bills.

2. Practical Steps to Regularize Electricity Consumption

During Peak Hours (6:00 PM to 10:00 PM):

Avoid using high-consumption appliances such as washing machines, electric irons, water pumps, and air conditioners during this period.

Switch off all non-essential lights to provide immediate relief to the national grid.

Daily Usage Habits:

Switch to LED bulbs, which offer up to an 80% saving in energy compared to traditional bulbs.

If using Air Conditioners (AC), maintain the temperature between 24°C – 26°C.

Unplug televisions, computers, and chargers when not in use to prevent “standby” energy waste.

Maximize the use of natural light and ventilation to minimize the reliance on fans and artificial lighting.

3. Collective Responsibility and Expected Outcomes

Using electricity sparingly is more than just a personal saving; it is a direct contribution to stabilizing the national economy during this global crisis. As the public reduces consumption, the overall cost of generation drops, allowing the government to pass those savings back to the consumer through future tariff revisions.

During this challenging period of wartime and economic pressure, all citizens are encouraged to systematically adjust their electricity consumption patterns to support this national objective.
